OVERVIEW
A Great Tool To Teach Inventors Invention Development
“SPOON” is a great tool for helping inventors understand the invention development process, and patenting in particular. Its simplicity and easiness-to-understand make it an excellent teaching aid. It was invented and designed by Jethro, (Captain of SHIINE® ENTERPRISE), around 2010. But he has no plans to pursue patenting or commercializing it. Instead, he uses it in a far more powerful way- to help you understand key aspects of patenting and product development.
Concept & Application
What's SPOON?
SPOON is a serving spoon featuring at least one openable-and-closable hole in its head. This allows the user to choose whether to retain or release fluid while retaining solid food in the spoon’s head.
While SPOON is not intended for commercial pursuit, its value lies in its educational potential. It helps inventors understand the nuances of patenting and overall product development. With advanced 3D printers like the Bambulab X1 Carbon, the full-sized SPOON can be printed in around 30-45 minutes, demonstrating the speed and effectiveness of modern 3D printing technologies.

SPOON’s simplicity makes it an invaluable tool in our educational arsenal on the Inventor’s Journey™. You’ll see it featured in many of Jethro’s videos and it will help you understand more about patenting (and Invention Development as a whole) than you could imagine, aiding you in understanding the invention development process for your own invention.
